Yograj Bhat, the highest-paid Sandalwood director, is ready to launch his new film after the not-as-expected box-office response of Paramatma.
The ace director has written a new script and picked Yash and Bhama in the lead roles. Sources say Ninasam Satish will also be seen in the lead role. Arjun Sarja was asked to essay an important role but since the dates got clashed, Bhat has rewritten the script to make the character older and is on the lookout for another actor. There will be one more actress to round off the five main characters in the film.
For someone who has succeeded without bothering too much about a story in his films, there will be a solid story this time.
“Yes, the biggest complaint about my films is that they hardly have a story. There could be an answer to that in this film. I was like a thief who got away every time. Since my films worked without stories, I continued making them like that. There were no special stories, only special situations.
This film will have a story. It is one of those stories I had in mind when I made Mani (his first film). Even the experiments on sounds and music, which were tried out in Jackie and Hudugaru, will be explored to the full extent in this film,” Bhat said.
He is working on the script with Ravikiran.
The story is about two youth, one a commoner another a conman. “It is the exploration of the socio, economic, educational and sexual problems of today’s youth,” the director says. His last film, Paramatma with Puneeth Rajkumar, did not yield the expected results at the box office. “This new film is being made with the same producer (Jayanna). He says he got back his investment,” Bhat said. Paramatma made Bhat the highest-paid director in Sandalwood, beating his own record in Gaalipata. “The average remuneration of all films I have directed is not great. And there is no need to mention the amount.”
